The perfect kid’s day out: Zoorassic Park at ZSL London & Whipsnade

When I was a kid, seeing Jurassic Park for the first time was a life-changing experience. It was like looking into a magical new world, and it sparked a life-long love of history and the animal kingdom (especially dinosaurs!).

Today, your loved ones get to experience the magic up close at Zoological Society London’s Zoorassic Park event at London and Whipsnade zoos. See life-sized, life-like animatronic dinosaurs and explore the ancient world like you’ve never experienced it before. Transport yourself back in time to the Mesozoic era and meet fascinating creatures like the gentle Brachiosaurus, the crested Dilophosaurus, and the terrible Tyrannosaurus Rex.

The park contains a fun adventure trail for kids to explore, as well as fossil-digging activities. You’ll even get your own time-travel passport to make sure you don’t get lost in the land before time.

Zoorassic Park will be available to visitors for six weeks during summer, from 22nd July to 3rd September. Tickets cost £24.30 for adults and £18.00 for children, with under 3’s going free. Discounts apply to seniors, students, and disabled visitors. If you’re visiting as a family you may be able to save 10% with the zoo’s family saver discount.

Entry to the zoo’s existing attractions are included with tickets to Zoorassic Park, so you can continue the adventure and meet their living, breathing animal friends. By experiencing the prehistoric world and today’s animal kingdom side-by-side, your family will learn the importance of protecting our natural habitats for future generations. You can even learn all about the fantastic conservation work carried out by the Zoological Society London.

Take a look at everything London and Whipsnade zoos have to offer, including Penguin Beach, Gorilla Kingdom, the Komodo Dragon House, and Into Africa. On the way, you’ll meet tigers, otters, tortoises, and spiders. You can even stroke friendly goats and llamas in the Touch Zone.

If you’re having a fantastic time at the zoo and simply don’t want the fun to end, try booking an overnight stay with ZSL’s summer sleepovers. You’ll have the chance to spend the night in the prehistoric jungle surrounded by your ancient giant-lizard friends. You can also get up-close with the animals by becoming a junior zookeeper for a day or by joining the Zoo’s macro photography workshop.
