5 Areas to Go Out in London

It’s common knowledge that London’s party scene is among the best in the world. The sheer size and diversity of the city mean that there is something for everyone,
from classy hotel bars to hipster techno venues; you’ll find anything and everything you could hope to find in the city.

But where do you begin to look when looking where to go out in London? We’ve highlighted five areas of the city that each have their own distinct vibe and character, each bringing their own unique flavour to the cultural melting pot that is London.

Fulham/Putney

Fulham and Putney are some of the slightly more upmarket areas of the city, but don’t let that fool you. The parties here are rambunctious with a hint of class about them and a sprinkle of added culture. It’s not as high class as Chelsea, but you’ll get much more bang for your buck here. Check out the Putney Pies & The Vault for cocktails with beautiful riverside views and the Half Moon for iconic music and theatre performances.

Brixton

If you’re looking to get down and dirty tonight, Brixton is the place to be. Known for its music venues, you’ll find some of the city’s best techno, house, jazz, ska and funk in its many clubs. Check out Phonox, Hootenanny, Dogstar, the Blues Kitchen – there are simply too many great places to name.

Soho

Soho is the beating heart of London’s club scene. Known for its outlandish gay bars – most of which are fantastic fun no matter your persuasion – the center is perfect if you’re looking for a place to go that has just about everything. You’ll find some of the city’s tastiest food here on top of secret cocktail bars, high-end clubs and straight-up British pubs. Check out Freedom, Club 49 and Barrio.

Camden

The alternative center of…well, just about the entire world – Camden is known for its rock, goth and indie scene. It’s the home of a handful of London’s best-known artists, both past and present, and is associated with a long legacy of music in the city. Camden has grown up a little in the past few years, now sporting some higher-end venues and some fantastic hipster street food vendors too. Don’t miss out on The Underworld – it’s Camden’s most infamous rock night club and an absolute blast.

Clapham

Clapham is London’s jack-of-all-trades night out. It has some unique and interesting drinking locations, such as Fu Manchu, Infernos and Venn St. Records. Wherever you go though, you’ll find a classic London crowd – a strange, diverse mix of people of all ages and backgrounds, coming together to relax after a long, hard day of work. And every one ready to party.
